The amount of time they take to talk at the prenatal appointment, the abundance of support during labor and birth, and the amazing support they give postpartum- they truly are a gift! They helped me feel confident in my birth plan and they were there for me whenever I needed in the days I was in early labor. When I felt like giving up on my birth plan, Jess called me to give me a pep talk that I could still achieve what I wanted and helped me change my mindset. When I needed physical and emotional support, Kate was cheering me on through the toughest moments. When I needed breastfeeding help as a first time mom, they were there for days and weeks after birth to help answer all of my questions (honestly don’t know if I would still be exclusively breastfeeding at 4 months postpartum if it wasn’t for their help those first few days!) Less than 4 weeks until my due date, our plans of where we were delivering changed to Pittsburgh (2.5 hours from home). I found myself in a panic trying to locate a birth photographer in the Pittsburgh area. I found the page of these ladies and then another local photographer recommended them to me. Both Jess and Kate were so quick to respond to emails and answered all of my questions. I have to admit, I was hesitant to invest because the price was a lot more than our photographers in my area. But it was seriously the. best. Investment. Ever! Kate was our girl for the big day and like another review mentioned how you automatically want to be her best friend, that’s exactly how it felt. She was so personable and down to earth! She was also an AMAZING support person for myself and husband with great suggestions to help me through my natural birth. Plus her words gave me such comfort during delivery. She spent many hours with us, including late night hours and left in the early morning hours still smiling. These two women are beyond amazing! Kate ended up being the doula/photog on call when I went into labor, and I am so glad I chose to have these women on my team. First off, the photos are the most treasured photos I have. If you're on the fence about birth photography, DO IT! You won't regret it. The raw emotion captured during one of the most magical events still brings tears of joy to my eyes. I honestly didn't even know Kate was taking photos; they're that good at their job. Second, as a doula and support network, I can't imagine my birth without her. From supporting my husband through the birth to helping me with whatever I asked, Kate was there without any hesitation. She seemed to know what I needed before I asked, which was amazing. Not to mention, they both have kiddos -- they understand what you're going through. Together, they are a tremendous resource. Prior to birth, they answered all my weird questions I had, and to postpartum when you need a sounding board to make sure things are going the way they should. They're both very loving and truly are there for you.

We hired Jess as our doula and for a fresh 48 session. Since this was not a package she offered, we were grateful she was flexible from the start in working that out with us. She was an amazing doula and just a lovely person to work with. She was by our side for nearly 24 hours and helped ensure I had an experience I felt good about even through many detours from my birth plan. She also supported my husband so that he could be the best birth partner he could to me. Our baby ended up in the NICU for a week, and she was so supportive and in touch throughout that experience and continuing postpartum. We had our photo session when our daughter was 5 weeks old in our home, and Jess was, again, so wonderful to work with. The session felt easy and relaxed and we love every photo that came out of it! We are glad to have met her and so glad we decided to hire her.
